About This Song
About "Kindertotenlieder : Mahler: Kindertotenlieder: No. 5, In diesem Wetter" by Anne Sofie Von Otter
A storm rages outside, but the lullaby within is a fragile shelter. Von Otter's voice hovers between consolation and devastation, the orchestra a dark, protective blanket. Mahler's final song from Kindertotenlieder finds beauty in the unbearable, a mother's grief transmuted into transcendent calm.
