About "A boy was born, Op. 3 : Britten: A boy was born, Op. 3: Variation 2: Herod" by Choir Of King's College, Cambridge
Britten’s choral variation paints Herod as a shadowed, menacing figure. The King’s College choir delivers stark, dissonant harmonies—a chilling portrait of tyranny, the calm of the nativity shattered by a ruler’s paranoid unease. Vivid, unsettling, and precise.
