About This Song
About "Ceremony of Carols, Op. 28 : Britten: Ceremony of Carols, Op. 28: That Yongë Child" by Choir Of King's College, Cambridge
A tender, angular lullaby. Britten sets the medieval text with spare, shifting chords, the solo voice wavering between innocence and knowing. 'That Yongë Child' is a cradle song with a cold draft underneath—warmth and vulnerability in the same breath.
