About "Britten: A Hymn to the Virgin" by Choir Of King's College, Cambridge
Britten's 'A Hymn to the Virgin' unfolds in hushed antiphonyâtwo choirs trading Latin phrases like whispered secrets. The Cambridge voices hover in ethereal suspension, dissonance blooming then resolving. A tender unease: the virgin's purity framed by the world's quiet menace, beauty held in fragile balance.
