About This Song
About "Ceremony of Carols, Op. 28 : Britten: Ceremony of Carols, Op. 28: Deo Gracias" by Choir Of King's College, Cambridge
'Deo Gracias' rings with pealing gratitude, Britten's choral writing leaping like bells in a frosty tower. The King's College choir delivers crisp, joyful alleluias, yet the harmonic twists hint at something deeperâa thankfulness shadowed by the knowledge of sacrifice. Exultation with an edge.
