About "A boy was born, Op. 3 : Britten: A boy was born, Op. 3: A Boy Was Born (Theme)" by Choir Of King's College, Cambridge
The theme of Britten's 'A Boy Was Born' emerges stark and unadorned—a plainchant-like melody that feels ancient yet unsettled. The Cambridge choir delivers it with monastic clarity, each phrase a stone laid in a cold manger. Expectation hangs in the air, waiting for variation to crack the stillness.
