About "Handel: Messiah, HWV 56, Pt. 1, Scene 1: Accompagnato. "Comfort Ye My People"" by Choir Of King's College, Cambridge
Handel's 'Comfort Ye' arrives as a lone voice against a sparse accompaniment—tender, unhurried, like a hand on a cold shoulder. The Accompagnato breathes reassurance, but the strings' gentle pulse hints at the vast wilderness still to be crossed. Comfort here is not softness; it is a promise carved from silence.
