About "Les goûts-réunis, Concert No. 8 "Dans le goût théâtral" : F. Couperin: Les goûts-réunis, Concert No. 8 "Dans le goût théâtral": VI. Loure. Pesamment" by Aurèle Nicolet
A loure marked 'pesamment'—heavily—moves with deliberate, weighted steps, like a dancer dragging velvet through dust. The flute's tone thickens, each phrase a slow, ceremonial bow. There's grandeur here, but also a shadow of fatigue in the stately tread.
