About "Les goûts-réunis, Concert No. 8 "Dans le goût théâtral" : F. Couperin: Les goûts-réunis, Concert No. 8 "Dans le goût théâtral": III. Air. Noblement" by Aurèle Nicolet
Couperin's 'Air. Noblement' is a stately, theatrical gesture—Nicolet's flute moving with measured grace over a rich continuo. The 'noble' bearing feels like a velvet curtain: beneath the poised surface, a subtle, dramatic tension simmers, as if a character onstage is about to break the pose.
