About This Song
About "Flute Sonata in E-Flat Major, BWV 1031 : J.S. Bach: Flute Sonata in E-Flat Major, BWV 1031: II. Siciliano" by Aurèle Nicolet
Bach's Siciliano sways like a gondola on a drowsy canal—flute floating over a gentle, rocking rhythm. The melody is pure pastoral longing, sweet but tinged with absence. Nicolet plays with exquisite restraint, letting the sorrow surface only in the smallest ornaments.
