About "Les goûts-réunis, Concert No. 8 "Dans le goût théâtral" : F. Couperin: Les goûts-réunis, Concert No. 8 "Dans le goût théâtral": VIII. Sarabande. Grave et tendre" by Aurèle Nicolet
A sarabande grave and tender: the pulse slows to a solemn heartbeat. The flute's line unfurls with mournful sweetness, each ornament a sigh. There's tension between the dance's formal dignity and a private, almost fragile sorrow.
