About "Cardboard" by Charlie Parker Septet
A septet date that scrapes against convention. 'Cardboard' evokes a brittle, foldable world: Parker's lines crease and unfold with rhythmic wit, the ensemble's swagger barely masking an undercurrent of unease. It's bebop as origami—sharp, clever, and oddly fragile.
