About "Begin The Beguine" by Charlie Parker And His Orchestra
Cole Porter's beguine becomes a big-band fever dream. Parker and his orchestra wrap the melody in lush, swaying rhythms, but his solo pierces the velvet—a sharp, modern voice slicing through nostalgia. The result is both seductive and unsettling, like a ballroom with a crack in the floor.
