About This Song
About "Carnaval, Op. 9 : Schumann: Carnaval, Op. 9: XI. Chiarina" by Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli
Chiarina glows with tender ardor, a portrait of Clara Wieck in miniature. Michelangeli shapes each phrase with restrained passion, the piano a candle flickering in a darkened hall. The tension between devotion and longing simmers beneath a serene, singing surface.
