About "Piano Concerto No. 5 in E-Flat Major, Op. 73 "Emperor" : Beethoven: Piano Concerto No. 5 in E-Flat Major, Op. 73 "Emperor": I. Allegro (Live)" by Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli
Beethoven’s Emperor concerto begins with a cadenza that feels like a storm breaking over a ballroom. Michelangeli’s live Allegro is majestic but restless—the piano a thunderhead, the orchestra a tide. Beneath the pomp, a quiet dread: grandeur that knows it cannot last.
