About "Tomkins: Musica Deo sacra: O Sing Unto the Lord a New Song" by Choir Of King's College, Cambridge
Tomkins's Renaissance polyphony bursts forth with restrained exuberance, voices weaving a tapestry of praise that feels both ancient and immediate. The music's intricate counterpoint is a kind of joyful architecture—each line a stone in a cathedral of sound, rising toward a luminous, uncontainable 'new song.'
