About "Goehr: Carol for St Steven" by Choir Of King's College, Cambridge
Goehr's carol for St Stephen is a study in stark beauty—angular harmonies and spare textures that evoke the first martyr's unwavering gaze. The music is cool yet luminous, like winter light through a stained-glass window, holding grief and grace in a tense, exquisite balance.
