About "Stravinsky: Ave Maria" by Choir Of King's College, Cambridge
Stravinsky's Ave Maria is a study in austere devotion, its block-like harmonies stacked like stone upon stone. The choir intones with icy clarity, yet warmth seeps through the cracks—a Russian Orthodox icon glowing in winter light. The tension is between ritual and intimacy, the angel's greeting echoing in an empty cathedral.
