About "Verdi: 4 Pezzi sacri: No. 3, Laudi alla Vergine Maria" by Boys Of King's College Choir, Cambridge
Verdi's Laudi alla Vergine Maria finds the operatic in the sacred. The boys' voices swell with dramatic fervor, each invocation of Mary a miniature aria. It's a hymn with a heartbeat—reverent, yes, but pulsing with theatrical yearning.
