About "Ives: Psalm XC" by Choir Of King's College, Cambridge
Ives sets Psalm 90 with characteristic unpredictability: voices splinter into dissonant clusters, then coalesce into stark unisons. The text's plea for wisdom in the face of fleeting time is mirrored in shifting meters and abrupt dynamic turns. This is sacred music with a restless mind—reverent, but never comfortable, always questioning.
