Palestrina: Motettorum liber tertius: No. 32, Hodie Christus natus est
About This Song
About "Palestrina: Motettorum liber tertius: No. 32, Hodie Christus natus est" by Choir Of King's College, Cambridge
Palestrina's motet spins 'Hodie Christus natus est' into a tapestry of imitative lines, each voice a thread of gold. The polyphony is luminous, almost weightless—angels announcing news that shatters the silence. Beneath the sweetness, a structural rigor holds the ecstasy in check, like joy disciplined into praise.
