About "Scarlatti, D: Laetatus sum: I. Laetatus sum" by Choir Of King's College, Cambridge
The Choir of King's College opens Scarlatti's 'Laetatus sum' with a rising tide of pure, architectural joy. The first movement's tension is between the text's command to rejoice and the music's careful, measured ascent—a happiness so disciplined it feels like a stone staircase spiraling toward heaven.
