About This Song
About "Britten: A Ceremony of Carols, Op. 28: IV. (b) Balulalow" by Choir Of King's College, Cambridge
A lullaby that rocks between tenderness and terror. Britten's 'Balulalow' cradles the listener in soft, repeating figures, but the harmony darkens at the edges—a mother's song that knows the world outside the cradle is not safe.
