About This Song
About "Britten: A Ceremony of Carols, Op. 28: II. Wolcum Yole!" by Choir Of King's College, Cambridge
Britten's 'Wolcum Yole!' rings with bells and buoyant antiphony, a carol that practically dances. But the harp's crystalline plucks and the choir's sharp dynamic shifts create a flicker of unease—celebration shadowed by the winter cold outside the stable.
