About "Chilcott: The Shepherd's Carol" by Choir Of King's College, Cambridge
Chilcott's carol spins a gentle, folk-inflected melody over shimmering choral pads. The shepherd's vigil becomes a lullaby for the listener, warm as wool yet tinged with the night's chill. There's a tender unease in its simplicity—a lullaby that knows the world outside is not sleeping, but waiting.
