About This Song
About "Leighton: Lully, Lulla, Thou Little Tiny Child, Op. 25b "Coventry Carol"" by Choir Of King's College, Cambridge
Leightonâs Coventry Carol is a lullaby with a knife beneath it: the treblesâ icy purity masks Herodâs slaughter, each 'Lully' a rocking motion that grows more brittle. Grief hides in the gentlest intervalsâa motherâs hush against horror.
