About "Stanford: 3 Motets, Op. 38: No. 1, Justorum animae" by Choir Of King's College, Cambridge
Stanford's 'Justorum animae' is luminous and restrained, a portrait of souls at peace. The choir's blend is immaculate, each line a soft thread in a seamless fabric. But listen closely: beneath the serenity, a faint melancholy, as if tranquility is only possible after loss.
