About "Wood: Hail, Gladdening Light" by Choir Of King's College, Cambridge
Wood's setting of the ancient Phos Hilaron glows with evening light, its choral texture spreading like candleflame across a darkened nave. The music breathes with a serene, almost weightless joy, yet a thread of longing runs through it—gladness that knows the night is coming.
