About "Schuman: Carols of Death: No. 3, To All, to Each" by Choir Of King's College, Cambridge
Schuman's 'To All, to Each' is a slow, spare meditation on mortality—each chord placed like a stone on a grave. The choir's restraint is devastating; no melodrama, just quiet inevitability. The carol form becomes a vessel for grief, and the silence between phrases says more than any crescendo.
