About This Song
About "Bach, JS: Komm, Jesu, komm, BWV 229: I. Komm, Jesu, komm" by Choir Of King's College, Cambridge
Bach's motet opens with a plea that hangs in the air like incense smoke—'Komm, Jesu, komm.' The choir's slow, chromatic harmonies create a tension between longing and resignation, each chord a step deeper into a quiet, almost unbearable intimacy.
