About "Lassus: Sacrae cantiones: No. 8, Justorum animae" by Choir Of King's College, Cambridge
Lassus sets the souls of the just in a garden of suspended harmonies. The motet's texture is velvet-dark, each cadence a petal falling. Beneath the placid surface runs a current of longing—rest granted, but at a cost. The choir's blend is so seamless it feels like memory itself, hovering between peace and elegy.
