About This Song
About "Stanford: 3 Motets, Op. 38: No. 2, Coelos ascendit hodie" by Choir Of King's College, Cambridge
Stanford's 'Coelos ascendit hodie' is a burst of ascension energy—bright, antiphonal, almost giddy. The choir tosses phrases between decani and cantoris like a celebration. Yet the joy is disciplined, shaped by Anglican precision. Heaven here is not vague; it is a well-built, radiant room.
