About This Song
About "Parry: Songs of Farewell: No. 6, Lord, Let Me Know Mine End" by Choir Of King's College, Cambridge
Parry's final Songs of Farewell is a meditation on mortality, its harmonic language both Victorian and strangely modern. The plea 'Lord, let me know mine end' rises from a low, dark place, then climbs toward fragile hope. The choir's phrasing breathes like a congregation exhaling together—resigned, yet unwilling to release the light.
